Arturo Fuente Don Carlos No.2 Torpedo

The Arturo Fuente Don Carlos No. 2 is the torpedo expression of Carlos Fuente Sr.'s personal blend — the most celebrated line in the regular Fuente portfolio, whose "Eye of the Shark" vitola took Cigar Aficionado's top honor in 2017. At 6 × 54, it wraps extra-aged Dominican tobaccos in the line's signature African Cameroon leaf, finished with a classic tapered head.

Construction

The Cameroon wrapper is toothy and rich-toned, the torpedo head rolled to a clean point. Cold draw brings cedar and a honeyed sweetness. Burn and draw are impeccable — the No. 2 is many Fuente loyalists' benchmark for construction.

Flavor profile

Medium to full-bodied and deeply polished. The first third opens with cedar, sweet spice, and toasted nuts. The middle third develops cocoa, coffee, and the leathery depth that extra aging brings. The final third closes with sweet tobacco, a touch of white pepper, and a long graceful finish. A 70–85 minute smoke.

Pairings & occasion

A special-evening cigar. Pair with cognac, an aged rum (El Dorado 15), a sherried Scotch (GlenDronach 12), or espresso. One of the great "impress a guest" cigars in the store.
