Padron 1964 Anniversary Torpedo Maduro
The Padron 1964 Anniversary Torpedo Maduro pairs one of the most functional shapes in cigars with the line's celebrated dark wrapper. The torpedo's tapered head isn't visual flair — it concentrates the smoke and lets you adjust the cut to dial in your preferred draw. At 6 × 52 and box-pressed, it's rolled in Estelí from sun-grown Nicaraguan tobaccos aged four years, finished in an oily Maduro leaf.
Construction
The taper is cleanly executed and the box-press firm. Cold draw brings chocolate and dried fruit. Padron's torpedoes are among the most consistent figurados made anywhere — even burn, tight ash, and a draw you control with the depth of your cut.
Flavor profile
Full-bodied and layered. The first third delivers cocoa, roasted coffee, and baking spice, focused and intensified by the tapered head. The middle third sweetens — molasses, toasted nuts, leather. The final third turns rich and earthy with a creamy chocolate finish. A 75–90 minute smoke with no rough patches.
Pairings & occasion
An evening cigar for a deliberate pace. Pair with bourbon (Eagle Rare 10, Maker's 46), añejo rum (Ron Zacapa), vintage port, or espresso. If you've smoked the Torpedo Natural, this is the same engineering with the volume turned toward sweetness and depth.
