This is the Natural wrapper version, which uses a sun-grown Nicaraguan habano leaf with a slightly lighter, more cedar-forward profile than its Maduro counterpart. The 1964 line uses long-filler tobacco aged a minimum of four years, hand-rolled at Padron's Estelí factory using construction methods refined over six decades.

Construction

The torpedo cap is the test of any rolling operation, and Padron passes it every time. The tapered head cuts cleanly, the wrapper doesn't unravel, and the draw is calibrated perfectly from the first puff. The box-press is firm without crushing the figurado profile. Burn line stays sharp through transitions, and the ash holds in solid segments.

Flavor profile

Medium-full bodied. The torpedo shape is what makes the early experience distinctive — the smaller initial draw area concentrates flavor, so the first inch hits with intense cedar, sweet cream, and a defined pepper. As the cigar widens through the second third, the volume of smoke increases and the profile broadens — toasted almond, light cocoa, and a creamy coffee note develop. The final third deepens into bittersweet cedar, a touch of caramel, and a warm peppery finish. The construction makes a single cigar feel like a three-act experience.

Pairings & occasion

This is an evening or weekend afternoon cigar — substantial enough to deserve attention but not so demanding that you need a special event.
