This 5¼ × 52 robusto pairs a dark U.S. Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper with Nicaraguan binder and filler grown on the family's farms, producing a full-bodied smoke that's noticeably rounder and sweeter than the Pepin-signature pepper bombs.

Construction

The Broadleaf wrapper is dark and rustic in the best way — thick, oily, and rich-smelling. Cold draw gives chocolate and dark earth. Construction is pure My Father: razor burn, dense ash, smooth draw to the nub.

Flavor profile

Full-bodied with a Broadleaf accent. The first third opens with cocoa, espresso, and black pepper. The middle third turns sweeter and earthier — dark chocolate, molasses, and a roasted-nut depth that Broadleaf delivers like no other leaf. The final third closes with leather and warm spice. A satisfying 50–65 minute smoke. Comes in boxes of 20.
