Liga Privada Year of the Rat 2026

Year of the Rat is one of the most hunted releases in the Liga Privada Único Serie. Born from the same experimental spirit as the legendary Dirty Rat, it first appeared in 2016 as a nod to the Florida Panthers' famous "Rat Trick" season, and now returns once a year in very limited quantities, available only through Drew Diplomat retailers. The 2026 edition keeps everything fans love: the dark broadleaf, the signature fan-tail cap and the gold foil sleeve on every cigar.

Construction

Handmade at Drew Estate's La Gran Fábrica in Estelí, Nicaragua. A dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper surrounds a Brazilian Mata Fina binder and a blend of Nicaraguan and Honduran fillers. Rolled in a 5 ½ × 46 Corona Gorda with a hand-twisted fan-tail head, each cigar is wrapped in gold foil and packed in an embossed blue Liga Privada Único box. Sold singly or in boxes of 10.

Flavor profile

Rich and full-flavored, yet more refined than its broadleaf look suggests. Expect milk chocolate, molasses and fresh-tilled earth up front with a touch of campfire smoke. Coffee builds through the middle third, sweetness deepens, and the final third brings more strength and character.

Pairings & occasion

A collector's cigar worth saving for an evening you want to remember. Pair it with a dark-roast espresso, an aged rum or a bourbon to bring out the chocolate and molasses. A full box makes a standout gift for any Liga Privada fan, and a few extra to age in the humidor never hurt.
