Oliva Connecticut Reserve Toro

The Oliva Connecticut Reserve Toro is one of the best values in the mild-to-medium category — Connecticut Shade refinement at a price that makes it an easy everyday pick. Rolled in Nicaragua with a silky Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and fillers, the 6 × 50 toro format gives the blend's creamy character a full hour to unfold.

Construction

A pale, even-toned wrapper with minimal veins and a clean seam. Cold draw brings cream and cedar. Oliva's construction consistency is legendary at every price point: straight burn, solid ash, easy draw, no surprises.

Flavor profile

Mild to medium with more backbone than most Connecticuts — the Nicaraguan core gives it a quiet strength under the cream. The first third opens with cedar and toasted almond. The middle third develops coffee with cream, white bread, and a soft black pepper that keeps things interesting. The final third finishes with subtle sweetness and toast. A 60–75 minute smoke.

Pairings & occasion

A morning or early-afternoon cigar. Pair with coffee, a wheat beer, a glass of prosecco, or a light bourbon (Basil Hayden). A great step-up recommendation for smokers who like mild cigars but are starting to want a little more.
