Padron 1926 No. 6 Maduro

The Padron 1926 No. 6 Maduro is the dark-wrapper expression of one of the most reliable cigars in the upper tier of the 1926 Anniversary line. Same 4¾ × 50 box-pressed robusto, same five-year-aged Nicaraguan long-fillers rolled in Estelí — but the Maduro wrapper's longer, hotter fermentation converts the leaf's starches into natural sugars, trading the Natural's woody refinement for chocolate depth and sweetness.

Construction

A firm, sharply squared box-press with a dark, oily wrapper. The cold draw pulls dark chocolate and espresso bean. As with every 1926, the burn line stays sharp without touch-ups, the ash stacks dense, and the draw is perfectly calibrated.

Flavor profile

Full-bodied and rich. The first third opens with dark cocoa, coffee, and black pepper. The middle third sweetens into molasses and roasted nuts with an earthy backbone. The final third finishes on bittersweet chocolate and leather, the retrohale sweet and toasty throughout. A 50–65 minute smoke that stays composed at full power.

Pairings & occasion

An after-dinner cigar through and through. This is the one we tell people to pair with a heavy peated Scotch (Lagavulin 16, Laphroaig 10) — the Maduro's sweetness stands up where the Natural would get buried. Bold bourbon, añejo rum, or espresso all work beautifully too.
