Padron 1926 Series No.2 Natural

The Padron 1926 Serie No. 2 Natural is the belicoso of the 1926 Anniversary line — a 5½ × 52 box-pressed figurado whose tapered head focuses the five-year-aged Nicaraguan blend into its most concentrated natural expression. Hand-rolled in Estelí at the Padron family factory, it wears a sun-grown Nicaraguan habano wrapper fermented for nuance rather than sweetness.

Construction

A box-pressed belicoso is one of the hardest formats to roll, and Padron's execution is immaculate — a clean taper, sharp press, smooth seams. Cold draw gives cedar and cocoa powder. The cut depth on the tapered head lets you fine-tune the draw; the burn and stacking ash perform like every 1926.

Flavor profile

Full-bodied and focused. The taper intensifies the opening third's cedar, white pepper, and toasted almond. The middle third broadens into cream, espresso, and warm bread notes. The final third sharpens to oak and dark coffee with a clean, peppery finish. A 60–75 minute smoke whose transitions feel more vivid than the straight-sided vitolas.

Pairings & occasion

An evening cigar for a focused palate. Pair with a quality bourbon (Eagle Rare 10, Russell's Reserve 10), an aged rum, or strong black coffee. Save the peated Scotch for the Maduro version of this cigar.
