Padron 1926 Series 80th Anniversary Maduro

The Padron 1926 Serie 80th Anniversary Maduro is the dark-wrapper version of the perfecto created for José Orlando Padrón's 80th birthday — a 6¾ × 54 figurado rolled in Nicaragua entirely from aged Nicaraguan tobaccos. Cigar Aficionado named it the No. 2 Cigar of the Year in 2008, and it remains one of the most sought-after cigars Padrón makes.

Construction

A tapered perfecto in an oily, near-black wrapper — striking to look at and meticulously rolled. The narrow foot lights quickly and the burn follows the curves with precision.

Flavor profile

Full-bodied and ceremonial. The tapered foot opens on concentrated dark cocoa and pepper; the wide middle delivers molasses, espresso, roasted nuts, and dark-chocolate sweetness in slow rotation; the finish narrows to bittersweet chocolate and leather. 90+ minutes.
