Padron 1964 60th Anniversary

The Padron 1964 60th Anniversary marks six decades of the Padrón family in cigars, released in 2024 to celebrate the company founded by José O. Padrón in 1964. It arrives as a 6½ × 56 perfecto — a rounded, tapered format rather than the box-press Padrón usually reserves for its top tier — built from two brand-new Nicaraguan puro blends created just for this release. Choose the Natural for a brighter, more refined profile or the Maduro for the darker, sweeter voice the Anniversary line is known for.

Construction

A flawless Nicaraguan puro hand-rolled at Tabacos Cubanica in Estelí. The Natural wears a smooth, golden-brown wrapper; the Maduro a darker, oily leaf. Both are finished with a brand-new band inspired by the vintage design on José Padrón's earliest cigars, and each stick ships in its own coffin. Burn, ash, and draw perform exactly as a Padrón should — effortlessly.

Flavor profile

Full-flavored and impeccably balanced. The Natural leads with cedar, almond, white pepper, and a bright cocoa sweetness that builds through the smoke. The Maduro runs deeper and sweeter — cocoa, espresso, dried fruit, and molasses over a leather-and-earth base, closing on sweet cinnamon and spice. Both deliver the aged, refined complexity that puts Padrón among the most decorated names in cigars. A 75–90 minute smoke.

Pairings & occasion

A true celebration cigar. Pair with an aged rum (Ron Zacapa 23), a well-rested bourbon, a tawny port, or espresso. The Natural shines earlier in the evening; the Maduro is a natural after-dinner companion. Production is extremely limited and released slowly, so this is one for collectors and for marking the occasions that deserve it.
