The Padron Family Reserve No. 50 Maduro is a 5 × 54 box-pressed robusto created to commemorate 50 years since José O. Padrón founded the company in 1964. A Nicaraguan puro rolled from the family's private reserve of tobaccos aged ten years, it wears a dark maduro wrapper that brings out the blend's deepest, sweetest notes.

Construction

Immaculate. The maduro wrapper is dark and silky over a firm, even press; burn, ash, and draw are reference-grade.

Flavor profile

Full-bodied with remarkable roundness. Rich cocoa and coffee open; earthy spice and a dark, honeyed sweetness layer through the middle; the close is warm, gently spiced, and very long. The robusto format concentrates everything into a 60–75 minute smoke.
