The Oliva Serie V Melanio Torpedo Maduro is the dark-wrapper version of one of the most respected figurados in Nicaragua — 6½ × 52, box-pressed, with San Andrés Maduro over the blend behind the 2014 Cigar of the Year.

Construction

A precisely tapered head on a dark, oily Mexican wrapper with the line's gentle press. Cut shallow or deep to set your draw; the burn tracks true regardless.

Flavor profile

Full-bodied and focused. The taper concentrates an opening of dark cocoa, espresso, and pepper; mid-smoke brings the wrapper's raisin-and-molasses sweetness over roasted earth; the finish is long bittersweet chocolate. 75–90 minutes of the Melanio at its most intense.

Pairings & occasion
