Padron 1926 No. 47 Maduro

The Padron 1926 Serie No. 47 Maduro delivers the line's celebrated dark-wrapper richness in the extended-robusto format — 5½ × 50, box-pressed, rolled in Estelí from sun-grown Nicaraguan tobaccos aged a minimum of five years. The Maduro wrapper's long fermentation supplies the chocolate sweetness that made the 1926 Maduros the most decorated cigars of their era.

Construction

Near-black, oily wrapper over a firm box-press. Cold draw gives dark chocolate and espresso bean. Burn, ash, and draw perform to the Padron standard — which is to say, flawlessly.

Flavor profile

Full-bodied and rich. The first third opens with dark cocoa, coffee, and black pepper. The middle third sweetens into molasses, roasted nuts, and dark-roast espresso. The final third settles on bittersweet chocolate and leather with a long, warm finish and a sweet retrohale. A 65–80 minute smoke that stays composed at full strength.

Pairings & occasion

After dinner with a serious pour. Pair with peated Scotch (Lagavulin 16), barrel-proof bourbon (Booker's), vintage port, or a double espresso — the Maduro sweetness stands up to all of it.
